A design inspired by the tall palms, ferns and leaves found within the glasshouses at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh as well as leaves I photographed within our own garden polytunnel. From tree ferns to fig leaves as well as palms to grape vines.

A design inspired by the way water drifts across sand, leaving ripples and patterns as it runs down to the sea. In addition the reflections of light on shallow water. The ‘fish’ are inspired by the feather-like water patterns found while walking bare foot along the sands, splashing through shallow water.

Incorporating colours from many a West and East Coast adventure including Tiree blues, Tyninghame tides and jellyfish pinks.

This design takes inspiration from the fresh new shoots and branches of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s "Golden Rain Tree" (Koelreuteria paniculata) in Spring. Intertwined are golden horse chestnut leaves which tumble through the background. Printed on a luxury fibrous paper to allow glimpses of gold to shine through.

My latest design is inspired by foliage and flowers in the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh which I have enjoyed from many a visit throughout the varying seasons. In particular new leaves and blossoms that emerge following the fresh Spring time showers, captured in the seasonal sunshine.

A design inspired by a trip to North Uist in mid June when the day lengths were at their height and the clouds and skies mesmerising as a result. An island full of magic, I was in awe at its changeable weather, turquoise blue waters, gentle salt spray, colourful machair, abundant bird life and snippets of sunsets.

A burst of red and coral poppies against the striking blue skies and the floaty clouds.

This design takes inspiration from Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh 2021 wild poppy meadow, capturing the delicate petals framed against the city sky. Details of seed and grass heads photographed against the floaty clouds can also be spotted, captured on coastal gardens in Wester Ross.
