What Colour are you? How I found out my Seasonal Colour Palette

Today I had the most amazing coloured filled morning with the fabulously talented Lauren who runs The Colourful Edit. I first discovered Lauren's wonderful business when I had the brilliant opportunity to photograph some of her colourful jewellery while on our recent trip to the Lavender Fields in France.

Not only does Lauren produce beautiful accessories, she is also a visual stylist, photographer and business branding extraordinaire.COLOUR ANALYSIS So when I heard that The Colourful Edit also provides Colour Analysis to help identify your tonal colour palettes, I was all ears!!I've always wondered whether the colours that you wear subconsciously affect the way you act and come across. (I'm sure I was once told that wearing red at an interview improves your chances of success?!) So I was intrigued to find out more about my colour personality and what this demonstrated about me. What colours suit me? What seasonal colour palette am I? How do you know what colours to avoid? Is it all influenced by your hair colour, eye colour or skin tone? JUSTHOW DO YOU DISCOVER YOUR VERY OWN COLOUR PALETTE?Well, let me take you on My EXPERIENCE OF MY Colour Journey Discovery!I had thought I knew my colour palette, having always had a tendency to reach for the rustic autumnal hues....plums, dark blues and greens are usually my first port of call. I'm not really sure why this is when the majority of my designs themselves are so bright and bold in comparison. So when filling in my colour questions and when faced with a differing colour grouping choices, I naturally chose the darker tonal options.....rightly or wrongly. And then to the test - a variety of colourful capes to hold up against my skin tone. And as I sat in our living room with my Harris Green Wallpaper in the background, it did dawn on me that perhaps I should wear the colours I express in my wallpaper designs!!And after a colourful (and massively enjoyable!) process of capes and clothes, Lauren worked her magic with her skilfully trained colourful eye and my seasonal colour palette was revealed! So what seasonal colour palette am I?MAIRI HELENA IS A SPRING PALETTE! Autumn no longer, you have been pushed aside by a warm Spring and with it comes fresh blues, lavender purples, warm corals and tans. And so to my wardrobe we sped with my Mairi Helena silk scarves in hand, to look for colourful combinations within my new 'Spring' in my step! Drawers were emptied and new outfit combinations created, with the help of Lauren's trend setting tips.So out with the old, and in with the new as start to explore my bright and fresh colour analysis card. And with my own personal style file and mood boards created, I am now right on track with my knowing my own colour story.
