Back in April, I had the lucky opportunity to work with the team behind madefromscotland.com, an online site showcasing creative designer-producers work from around Scotland. Scotland is home to many aspirational, talented artists, crafters, jewellers and fashion designers who create wonderfully bespoke products and gifts for retail. madefromscotland.com provides a wonderful online platform to showcase this.
Having been born and brought in Scotland, along with always having held a real passion for the arts and crafts, it was a real pleasure for me learn more and work with such a wide range of diverse produce by Scottish Crafters.
I just love Harris Tweeds, tartans, textiles..!
I love this Harris Tweed Clock by Juniper & Jane textiles and the beautiful tartan hearts by Couthie!
The gorgeous tartan blanket you see is a prime specimen of Solway Blankets!
It was also lovely to be based in the busy city of Edinburgh for the majority of our photography. We were very kindly given the opportunity to take some photography within the The Fountain Bar on Dundee Street as well as The Salisbury Arms on Dalkeith Road. Both offering a stylish and contemporary interior for our backdrops.
We photographed home wares:
I would love to decorate my house with some beautiful interior home wares! I love the blue rich floral cushion by Amy McGregor, the caramel wafer cushion by Gillian Kyle and brilliantly creative stag head by A Wooden Tree. Love that door stop by Calluna Designs, love Harris tweed! Look at the funky lampshade by Dibujo Designs!
Lots of admiration for Scotland’s Artists! Here we have a collection of wonderful work including A Pair of Blue Eyes, Elle and Pea, Dwelling Bird, Pink Pig, Hannah Longmuir and Cherith Harrison.
Scottish Influenced Designs:
Brilliant Scottish influenced gifts, I had great fun reading the slogans! Fabulous designs!
Gorgeous fashion! I would like to accessorise my wardrobe with all of these! Fabulous Harris Tweed bag by Katherine Emtage (I do love Harris Tweed!), gorgeous scarves by Nikky d’Aguilar and Hogarth. Love the Roddie and Louie designs and of course the leather satchel by Dunmore Scotland.
Some gorgeous examples of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. From Edinburgh based Hannah Eccles to as far north as Kirsteen Stewart based in Orkney!
It was a pleasure finding out about so many designers and crafters around Scotland! Trouble is now I want to redecorate with so many gorgeous, creative Scottish products right up my street! If you like what you see then please do check out madefromscotland.com for a browse! So many beautiful pieces; perfect for a keepsake, a gift or just for a splash out for yourself!
Please stay tuned for a follow on blog post featuring my interview from Fay Gourlay, CEO at madefromscotland.com!
