Is Summer finally upon us?! Ah I hope so! This recent weather has been GLORIOUS! It’s put me straight into the spirit of Summer both indoors and out. I’ve been throwing open the windows in our home, reaching for fresh flowers, tossing out the woollen rugs and reaching for the cocktail glasses! All these actions of which have inspired me to write a blog post based on… Style Savvy Ways to Create (and enjoy!) a Summery Interior.
BOLD AND BRIGHT HOME ACCESSORIES
There’s something about bright and beautiful homewares that immediately conjure Summer spirits and colourful living. Freshen up your home interior with a splash of vibrancy to put you in the mood for Summer days.
Brightly colourful Mairi Helena Luxury Velvet Feather Cushions for the Sofa
Last week I attended a fab colour workshop during Clerkenwell Design Week by Disegno Daily hosted by Arper which focused on ‘The Colour Theory’ researched by Johannes Itten. You may all well know that colour can very much be used to highlight an interior space and help draw attention in different ways. It was so inspiring to hear how colour can subconsciously affect our mood. Take these thoughts on the application of colour in interiors for instance:
Red can be as powerful as black
Yellow remind us of the sun and happy summer days
Green interestingly is a colour you can spend time in the longest
We become lost in hues of blue, it’s calming as it reminds us of the trusty blue skies above
It’s lovely when interiors can extend out into the exterior. Writing this sentence makes me think of large french doors opening onto a patio, an immediate route from indoor to out. Living in an upstairs flat, unfortunately I don’t have this luxury! But I like to improvise and seek out a secluded spot in which to set up a little garden party, bringing the interiors outdoors, even if this means setting the table at the beach!
Summer Table Scenes, Garden Parties and Cocktails
Think Summer, immediately think cocktails. In particular GIN cocktails. Grab your cocktail glasses, colourful crockery, paper napkins and put on a spread. Check out these gin glasses from the LSA International gin cocktail range, perfect for a garden party in the sunshine!
I’m a particular fan of the LSA International gin coupe set, maybe it’s just me but I always think there’s something extra classy about drinking a freshly shaken cocktail out of a wide rimmed glass!
My husband’s favourite cocktail on the other hand is a mojito so the LSA International Highball it is for him then!
Then I got carried away and purely for the benefit of this post….(any excuse!) ….I just had to try a trusty favourite of Rhubarb and Ginger Edinburgh Gin an LSA International Balloon Glass, a perfect combination in my book!
